I currently teach preschool age children with severe special needs. Reading to my classes in a large group does not engage them, but reading to one child at a time with them in our laps (myself and 3 assistants) seems to work out better.
I have quite a collection of texture books, and talking books.
Any suggestions to give my kids as much exposure to literature as possible, without asking them to do something they cannot do, like paying attention in a large group?

Glad you posted your query on the blog here. Quick thought- maybe if your thought's posted in Forum it would keep a top position longer because the blog area is where kids postings on stories come in. I mention this because I noticed a new kids story posting came in and it bumped yours down one slot, so just passing this along as a tip...
